OUR FUNDERS
The Centre For Grief and Healing is a charitable organization dedicated to supporting individuals in the Halton/Peel community who are experiencing the loss of someone in their life. We offer a range of free programs designed for individuals ages 6 and up, ensuring that our services are accessible to a wide range of age groups and tailored to meet diverse needs.

We are incredibly grateful to our funders, who make it possible for us to provide specific programs and initiatives that have a meaningful impact on our community. The supports provided through our funders' contributions play a vital role in allowing us to expand and strengthen our offerings. We are committed and proud to acknowledge our funders transparently in various forms of communication and programming to reflect the importance of these partnerships. Additional programs we offer are often directly funded by our community partners, corporations, foundations, and individual donors.

The following funders are currently supporting specific programs we are offering at this time. We deeply value the connections we’ve built with these organizations and are so appreciative of their belief in our mission.

Core Fund (2024-2026): Through this fund, we can continue operating and providing much needed grief support. Your commitment to our community‘s well-being is truly appreciated!

Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF)
-
System Innovations Grant (2023-2028): This incredible and generous support is funding a collaborative project (with Finding Our Power Together) titled "Bridging the Gap: Indigenous Youth Leading the Path to Improved Mental Health Systems". This funding will support us in conducting groundwork and implementing strategies to strengthen the pathways to access the mental health system for Indigenous youth in Southern Ontario. We will invest in approaches to transform the existing system into one that prioritizes Indigenous youth's experiences, healing, and knowledge, while reducing systemic discrimination and barriers, and increasing accessibility, quality of care, and integrating cultural humility through trauma-informed practice.
-
Resilient Communities Fund (2024-2025): This invaluable support will help build our resilience and sustainability by redeveloping and implementing strategic fundraising plans and initiatives while increasing access to mental health supports for our staff to reduce burnout.
-
Seed Grant (2024-2025): This funding will support the launch of our Traumatic Loss Grief Support Program for Youth and Young Adults, which addresses the critical mental health needs of individuals aged-13-24 in the Halton/Peel Region, who have experienced traumatic losses, such as suicide, overdose, homicide, or sudden violent incidents. This initiative is in partnership with Distress Centres of Greater Toronto and together, we will provide vital peer support groups and individual support to help young people navigate their unique journeys.
We are deeply grateful to every individual, organization, and community partner who helps us continue our vital work as a leading grief and bereavement organization. Together, we provide compassionate support to those navigating one of life’s most challenging journeys.

To honour the generosity and kindness of those who make our mission possible, we are thrilled to introduce our Donor Recognition Program! This initiative celebrates the incredible impact our donors have in fostering healing, connection, and hope for those experiencing loss.

Your contributions don’t just support programs—they change lives. Join us in making a difference and become part of a community that believes in the power of compassion. Together, we can ensure that no one has to face grief alone.
